1 THESSALONIANS 5:17

WHY BUY THIS SHIRT:  My pastor taught me an amazing trick of drawing a 1 on my hand and everytime you see the 1 on your hand you have to pray.  At first, when he was teaching me I had this thought in my head "I pray enough".  After I heard that voice and felt me hesitancy to do it I said to myself "WHAT!? DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF? YOU PRAY ENOUGH?".  I then asked myself "How can anyone pray enough or too much?".  Shortly after this thought, I grabbed a pen and drew the 1 on my hand right above my thumb knuckle.  That day we found out a young girl we recently met and hung out with was in a coma.  The news came in that the doctors did not know why she is in a coma and did not know if she will wake up.  What does our nature tell us in those situations to do? PRAY! So I did.  On that day I finally understood what it was to "Pray without ceasing" to pray continually as some translations read.  I said a prayer for the girl and heard a voice say how bad do you want her to come out of this coma.  I realized so often I pray to God like the magical genie in a bottle just asking him to do things with no honest belief or faith.  I prayed God help this girl come out of this coma amen.  I reiterated the prayer back to myself in my mind. God if you feel like it bring this girl out of a coma cause your God okay I said what I had to so I am done.  Thats not prayer. I came back to prayer all day asking earnestly and telling God if she does I will share the gospel with her.  I prayed and asked God help me to believe more.  I spent time asking over and over like a child that wants the new best thing at christmas. As I prayed I coudl feel my heart grow but also I could feel me growing in my intimacy with God.  God is not just some phone call when you have to make it.  Now I enjoy praying to him throughout the day and most days I still dont pray enough.  We never can pray enough.  But my prayer for you and I today is that God will help us to pray more.  For each other and with each other.  We can't pray enough and we need to be praying against all the distractions keeping us from prayer time.  God help us cause the flesh is so weak.  If someone likes your shirt, ask them if you can pray for them. Prayer works!  I praise God for all the prayers he has answered over the years, most which looked impossible but was an opportunity to grow in faith and in believing.
